BIOGRAPHICAL
JOHN AUSTIN: Christ's Hospital
(Blue Cost) School and played trumpet and saxophone. Royal Artillery
Band Woolwich. Guildhall School of Music. Twelve years professional
trumpeter. Returned to Cornwall to teach music. Formed own band.
Peripatetic brass teacher for CCC. Involved with County and other
Youth Orchestras.
BOB PETERS: Educated at Falmouth Grammar School and Rolle College,
Exmouth (Teacher Training). in the 1960's played piano and tenor
sax with rhythm and blues and soul bands. School teaching most
of the 70's and began to introduce Jazz into the curriculum.
Later returned to professional music in both the UK and Zambia
- also worked as an arranger during this time. Returned to teaching
in 80's with spells of head of music at Cape Cornwall School,
Falmouth School and Mullion School continuing to use Jazz/lmprovisational
music as large part of music curriculum. Responsible for developing
a Jazz Degree Course at Truro College in conjunction with Exeter
University.
