The Association is run by a committee of elected volunteers mainly drawn from the membership. From time to time the Association co-opts members whose specific skills and knowledge may further the objects of the Association.

Exhibitions are decided upon by the committee, who shape ideas into a yearly programme of events. The organisation, fund-raising, and successful implementation of the programme in the galleries are due to the hard work and dedication of the gallery curators, committee members, and other volunteers.

Nominations for the committee are invited annually at the general meeting.

The honorary officers include:
The Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and ten Committee members. Permanent
officers of the Association include the Secretary and Treasurer.

The Cornwall Crafts Association has gained a reputation nationally for the quality of craftwork of its past and present exhibiting members. The galleries it manages are well established and attract a wide-ranging audience from around the country. It is thriving and self-supporting. Grant aid for special projects has been given by South West Arts, Cornwall County Council and other funding bodies.

Exhibiting with the Association not only provides an outlet for selling work, but also allows the craftworker direct contact with customers who often commission work privately.

Full members of the Association may submit work for exhibition at all the Association’s galleries.

They receive newsletters keeping them in touch with events and policy-making.

The Association also plays host to exhibitions from outside the county. These aim to increase awareness of the development of ideas within the crafts. On occasions reciprocal arrangements are made for members to display their work in other galleries around the country.

The Cornwall Crafts Association is also responsible for organising craft workshops, talks and demonstrations, keeping makers, members of the general public and school children informed and educated as to the potential of craft expertise.

The Cornwall Crafts Association has a proven record in the establishment of a strong craft movement in Cornwall.
The relations between function and design, and art and craft will always be hotly disputed. The Association can only hope to keep up with the current climate, and to offer the community a healthy and varied view of the crafts.
The Association will continue to build on the long-standing relationship it has achieved with the public and craftspeople alike.
